VOSON is a web application for collecting and analysing hyperlink data from the Internet. VOSON stands for the Virtual Observatory for the Study of Online Networks. The application provides a superlative user experience for both data collection (webcrawling) and analysis on the one hand and data visualisation on the other. It is designed from the ground up to give the user the ability to search, crawl, analyse, refine and visualise connections between websites defined by inbound and outbound hyperlinks.

VOSON will run in Firefox, Chrome and Safari (including mobile Safari on the iPad). VOSON is not currently supported for Edge/Internet Explorer.

The Classic version of VOSON, which had an older interface and was limited to the Mozilla Firefox browser, was retired on May 31st, 2016. The current version of VOSON is 2.5.

VOSON is a product of the VOSON Project, developed by Prof. Robert J. Ackland at the Australian National University (ANU). The VOSON engine is licensed by Uberlink Corporation from the ANU.
